Are you ready to go?
Imagine yourself on a classic road trip through the mountains. You are debating how best to save our planet with a great group of new friends. All of them are as intent on making the world a better place as you are and the subject is the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Led by an experienced group of mentors, the group is smart, savvy and diverse. Your entire cohort is traveling to Calgary to attend an important national symposium where you will meet Canadian leaders engrossed in the latest discussions on the roadmap to 2030. You have a good understanding of where Canada stands on the SDGs. On the way to Calgary you will stop in Nelson to meet other young British Columbians who want action and you will deepen your exploration of how to implement the goals. Sound like a great learning experience? Sound worthwhile?
This road trip is just one part of an exciting new ten-month applied course that offers both a theoretical understanding of the SDGs as well as practical experience working in this emerging new field. Bringing both theory and practice into the course (praxis) along with peer learning at the cutting edge of an emerging subject, this course is designed for highly motivated youth between the ages of 18 and 24. The road trip is the beginning of a shared journey with like minded youth in which you will ultimately find yourself engaging Canadians on how to make the SDGs real and actionable.
The Program – “SDG Bootcamp”
