The Fund for Innovation and Transformation (FIT) is a new national innovation initiative launched in May 2019. FIT supports Canadian small and medium-sized organizations (SMOs) testing innovative solutions to advance gender equality and empower women and girls in the Global South.

The Spur Change program is a 5-year initiative of the Inter-council Network (ICN), funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), aiming to increase the effectiveness of SMOs to deliver sustainable results in support of the Feminist International Assistance Policy and the Sustainable Development Goals; support educators in engaging school communities on global issues; foster youth action on the Sustainable Development Goals.
ICN Youth Delegation
Each year, the Inter-Council Network Youth Delegates, comprised of eight delegates representing the eight provincial and regional councils attend multilateral spaces and conventions to meet with policymakers and international changemakers. In 2020, the Youth Delegates were meant to attend the 64th Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations headquarters. Due to the pandemic, this plan had to be changed, and the Delegation instead attended a Youth Forum at the Senate of Canada, in Ottawa, on March 9-10. Read more about the experience here.
As opportunities to engage in addressing society’s increasingly moved online, the ICN Youth Delegation initiative was reimagined as a granting program to facilitate youth and public engagement in 2021. Learn more about the ICN Youth Delegation 2021 here.
As post-pandemic events moved to in-person, the ICN Youth Delegates for 2023 were able to travel to New York City in March of 2023 to attend the 67th Commission on the Status of Women and the United Nations Headquarters. The 2023 delegation was composed of seven delegates representing the regional councils across Canada. Learn more about the 2023 delegation here.
