Charting our Collective Future SMO Leadership Retreat

Spur Change is excited to invite leaders from small and medium-sized organizations (SMOs) working in international cooperation to a dynamic leadership retreat November 24-27, 2025 set against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains in Banff, Alberta. Together with leaders from the Provincial and Regional of the Inter-Council Network (ICN), we will explore the future of SMOs in a rapidly evolving global landscape, strengthen our collective voice, and work through new ways of promoting a national network of SMOs — ready to mobilize, campaign, and drive meaningful change in Canada and beyond.

Overall Objectives

• To build and strengthen relationships amongst the national network of small and medium-sized organizations (SMOs), Provincial and Regional Councils, and the Inter-Council Network (ICN) to enhance collaboration in mobilizing and campaigning together for future SMO support and evolving global issues.
• To address opportunities and challenges faced by leaders within Canada’s international cooperation sector.
• To share inspiring stories, good practices, resources and opportunities that build personal and organizational capacity.
