Programs

The Inter-Council Network (ICN) offers a range of dynamic programs designed to foster collaboration, capacity building, and advocacy among Canadian councils for international cooperation. ICN is hosted by the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation (ACIC), which provides administrative support and facilitates its mission to strengthen connections and collective action across the sector.

FIT poster

FIT Program

The Fund for Innovation and Transformation (FIT) is a national innovation initiative launched in May 2019. FIT supports Canadian small and medium-sized organizations (SMOs) testing innovative solutions to advance gender equality and empower women and girls in the Global South.

Spur Change

The Spur Change program is a 5-year initiative of the Inter-council Network (ICN), funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), aiming to increase the effectiveness of SMOs to deliver sustainable results in support of the Feminist International Assistance Policy and the Sustainable Development Goals; support educators in engaging school communities on global issues; and foster youth action on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Inspiring Action for Global Citizenship

Inspiring Action for Global Citizenship, launched in 2019, engages Canadians in international cooperation and sustainable development goals. The program excels in capacity building, youth leadership, curriculum development, and public engagement on gender equality, human rights, and global citizenship. ICN reaches over 4 million people annually with 32,000+ participants.

The Inspiring Action for Global Citizenship program aims to promote awareness of global issues among the Canadian public and relevant stakeholders across Canada. Implemented by the eight Provincial and Regional Councils for International Cooperation, this program fosters engagement in international development within their respective provinces and regions.

The Global Hive Toolkit is designed to assist the efforts of public engagement practitioners working in Canada: NGO staff, volunteers, international development workers, teachers, youth, campaigners, activists, artists, policy makers – in short, everyone who works to engage others on global issues.
