Dear Policymakers,
Education personally resonates with me as an aspiring educator. I strongly believe in the potentiality of early childhood development and lifelong learning. The foundation of a sustainable and equitable future lies in cultivating the potential and possibilities in future generations. Education goes beyond the teaching of basic literacy and numeracy skills towards the cultivation of growth mindsets, positive attitudes, and a commitment to continuous development, growth and learning, equipping future generations with the foundation on which they can build skills and competencies to lead to adequate employment, careers and fulfillment through their meaningful contributions to society. As a youth advocate for educational empowerment and equity, I urge you to consider these actionable steps for SDG 4:
The prioritization of education is the advocacy of humanity’s greatest asset. It is the nourishment of and justice for the human mind. It is this that has created the world’s greatest civilizations, technologies, and revolutions, and it is this that will continue to solve some of the world’s greatest problems. To advocate and act in the name of education is to invest in a healthier and more sustainable future that not only dispels individual ignorance but inspires a generation to together participate in global social change.
Sincerely,
Balsimran Gill
