Inter-Council Network congratulates Liberal Party of Canada for re-election

(October 25, 2019) - The Inter-Council Network (ICN), a coalition of eight provincial and regional councils for international cooperation, representing over 350 civil society organizations from coast to coast to coast, would like to congratulate Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada for their re-election.

Over the past four years, the ICN has worked closely with the Government of Canada to take action on important issues affecting Canadian civil society and partners around the world. Notably, the ICN has appreciated collaboration with Global Affairs Canada and Employment and Social Development Canada on:

• addressing global inequality, by empowering women and girls particularly, through the launch of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP),
• developing an implementation plan for Canada’s Policy for Civil Society Partnerships for International Assistance, and
• advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through concrete action on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Together, with the Government of Canada, we can continue to strengthen and enable Canadian civil society; and inspire even more Canadians to contribute to global social and environmental justice, gender equality, and sustainable development.
