Join the 29th edition of IDW
International Development Week (IDW) is a chance for Canadians of all capacity to share their experiences with reducing poverty in the world and bring attention to global-local initiatives around the country. It is a week to reflect on how far we have come and discuss the work still to be done in reducing poverty. At events all across Canada, both individuals and organizations will come together to celebrate Canadian contributions to international humanitarian assistance in the developing world. Through events like workshops, conferences, and more, Canadians will have the opportunity to learn and contribute actively to global issues initiatives. This year, over 50 international development and humanitarian organizations have joined together to celebrate #IDW2019 .
The theme is “Together for Gender Equality”.This theme embodies Canada’s commitment to the global effort to address gender inequality and encourages all Canadians to be change-makers in advancing gender equality in the world. To truly contribute to the global effort to eradicate poverty, we must address inequality, and ensure that women and girls are empowered to reach their full potential.
With plenty of national and local events, there is opportunities for everyone. How will you take part? Check out Global Affairs Canada’s calendar of events here. Below are some helpful links to get your planning started!
