About the McMun Model UN Conference 2021
About her experience at the McMun Model UN Conference, Evely says, “the McMun Model UN Conference was held in late January of this year and was an amazing experience to be able to learn from and debate with other politically-active youth. Although this year looked different than normal, being online allowed for a unique and unforgettable opportunity for many, especially myself, with this being not only my first time at McMun, but my first experience attending any Model UN Conference. I was joyfully overwhelmed at times to witness so many diverse delegates and hear their observations, mainly discussing the SDG 5 concerning gender equality and related topics that all closely aligned with my interests. My goal for my public engagement activity – the ‘survey’ – is to be able to analyze others’ opinions and understanding of these topics, and answer questions about my personal experiences, whether at the Model UN conference, or any of my political engagement, and possibly how others can become involved. in the future.”
