The Inter-Council Network (ICN) is looking for Canadian and international CSOs to participate in a research project on feminist, anti-racist and decolonial practices in public engagement from September 2021 to April 2022.
About the Research
This research aligns with the sectoral-wide shift towards more feminist, anti-racist, and decolonial approaches in international cooperation work. Increasingly, organizations are proactively interrogating their principles and practices; a positive step towards decolonizing the sector. However, this reflexivity exercise and the actions that result from require intentionality not to propagate the same harmful practices and/or produce new forms of harmful practices. Through this research, the ICN aims to:
- To equip CSOs and the council members with tools, tactics, and resources to use in feminist, anti-racist and decolonial approaches in public engagement.
- To develop an ethical framework for public engagement that encompasses feminist, anti-racist, and decolonial approaches.
- To develop approaches that can foster transformative engagement of Canadians as global citizens for a just and sustainable world.
- To provide policy recommendations that will inform policy and practice in public engagement and global citizenship.
Participants
The participants we seek are actively engaged in either feminist, anti-racist or decolonial work and/or adopt these practices in public engagement. We are also keen to have women, youth, Indigenous and LGBTQIA+ peoples join the research participants. If this is you, email us your CV at judyannet@acic-caci.org (ICN Policy Officer).
*An honorarium of CAD$250 will be provided to participants.
Application deadline: August 8, Sunday.
