As part of International Development Week 2026 and this year’s theme, Prosperity through Partnership, the provincial and regional councils for international cooperation are Looking Back and Looking Ahead!
The ICN is Looking Back at International Development week throughout the years from 2019 to 2025. Recognizing and celebrating the continued commitment the councils have demonstrated over the years.
The ICN also invited their partners, members, and communities to Look Ahead through a video initiative, reflecting on the importance of international development work and the interconnected relationships between local and global issues.
International Development Week (IDW) is an annual initiative that takes place during the first full week of February. Since 1991, IDW has brought together civil society organizations, schools, businesses, government agencies, and the general public to highlight Canadian contributions to international development initiatives from coast to coast to coast and overseas.
This year’s International Development Week (#IDW2026) will take place from February 1 to 7 and will be celebrated by the Inter-Council Network, Global Affairs Canada, Canadian development organizations and Canadians with events and activities across the country.
