About ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025

The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum will take place from 15 to 17 April 2025 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The Forum provides a platform for young people to engage in a dialogue with Member States and other stakeholders to share their views and concerns as well as galvanize actions and recommendations to transform the world into a fairer, greener and more sustainable place led by the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The ECOSOC Youth Forum will be guided by the 2025 theme of ECOSOC and the High-level Political Forum (HLPF): “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind”. It will also provide opportunities to discuss concrete actions and commitments to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for in-depth review at the 2025 HLPF, namely SDG 3 (Good health and well-being), SDG 5 (Gender equality), SDG 8 (Decent work and economic growth), SDG 14 (Life below water) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Calling all young leaders aged 18-25! The ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025 is scheduled for April 15-17, 2025, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This annual event provides a platform for youth to engage in dialogue with Member States and other stakeholders, sharing their perspectives and contributing to the advancement of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Following the success of last year’s participation, where ICN’s youth delegate, Srijain Shrestha, actively contributed to key discussions and engaged with policymakers, ICN will once again be sending 1-2 youth delegates to the ECOSOC Youth Forum in 2025. This is a unique opportunity to amplify youth voices and influence global decision-making on sustainable development.

The deadline for applications is March 19, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Atlantic Time.

Requirements

- You must be between 18 and 25 years old at the time of the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025 (April 15-17, 2025).
- You must be a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada.
- The preferred language for the forum is English, but bilingualism (English & French) is considered a strong asset. Candidates who speak both languages will be given priority consideration.
